Keep Smiling
A few weekends ago in Orlando a nice Hindu man approached me with a book of karma-free recipes. I did what I usually do with strangers–I politely smiled as he talked. As I skimmed through the book, he told me he was raising money for a nearby shelter. I fished $2 out of my purse, and he gave me the book.
He asked me if I was a student.
“No, I just graduated actually.”
“Well, what’s the next step?” he asked. I told him about my job in West Palm.
“Well no wonder you’re smiling,” he laughed. “You’re employed!”
I couldn’t help but laugh back. As he walked away he shouted over his shoulder, “Keep smiling, okay?”
So even though I had a really rough week, I’m reminded of this conversation. I’ve been stressing out over so many things and moping around. Sometimes in life we exaggerate the negatives when we should really just focus on all the good things. I’m going to try my best to keep that in perspective.
As long as I have a roof over my head, food on the table and people who love me, what else is there to really ask for?
My sparkly new business cards.
Finally did an OOTD. Shoes courtesy of Blakey!
